ONLINE SCHOOLS

Posted by vida

Students enrolling in school this fall will find great wallet-friendly deals on personal computers.

From small fry to adults, students of all ages can start the new school year with a desktop or laptop computer at deals that continue to get better with every dip in the economy.

And e-learners are among those who will benefit the most as competing computer stores pull out all the stops to woo customers and generate sales revenue. Since online degree programs allow the ease of taking all classes online at convenient times and locations, computers should be able to withstand the rigors of steady, long-term use.

Most new computers meet the minimum requirements for college students; but if extensive software will be loaded onto the computer, then a faster processor and more memory may be required. For example, music and graphic design students fall into this category.

Students should research their computer requirements in order to tailor their search and find exactly what they need.

Laptop computers are available for prices ranging from the low-$200’s upward, depending upon memory, screen size, screen resolution, processor, memory, battery, included software and other specifications.

In general, some of the best places to shop for computer bargains include:

  • Costco — great prices, plus instant savings on specific computer models
  • Wal Mart — low everyday prices
  • Dell  — daily special prices on select models
  • Best Buy — large selection and wide price range
  • CompUSA — mail-in rebate deals

Students should check their newspapers for sale ads and check online for Internet bargains. Some deals may have limited quantities; so students should act quickly.

College students are eligible for additional discounts in their school bookstores and at Apple Computers. At Apple, either online or in-store, students will need to provide the name of their college or university in order to benefit from extra savings.

There has never been a better time to shop for a computer; so all students should shop around until they find exactly what they need at a price they can afford. Netbooks, or mini-computers, are generally the least expensive laptops and pack a lot into a small package. They may lack dvd capability; but they are extremely lightweight (about 2 pounds) and usually have built-in web-cams as well.

With holidays approaching, like Labor Day, the deals just keep coming. So shoppers, start your engines!
