ONLINE SCHOOLS

Posted by vida

As the U.S. economy tumbles in a wave of stock market and real estate ups and downs, individual concerns about how to remain financially afloat are climbing to the top of the priority list.

The dilemma is: How can I remain diligent on my job, yet update my skills and prepare for possible layoffs and cutbacks?

Online Schools Offer Solution

In a recent column in Computerworld online, this issue was addressed; and online schools were offered as a flexible, workable solution.

The article focused on those who are currently employed in the programming, computer science and business fields. However, the e-learning solution is a win-win for most positions where an update in skills inevitably leads to better job security and financial stability. It is possible to:

  • Attend online school at home while maintaining full-time hours at work.
  • Update current skills or train for a new career.
  • Earn a professional certificate or college degree for job promotion and higher pay.

Being Proactive to Remain Employed

The increase in new technologies has impacted a number of career fields; and those who are recent graduates from college are trained in the latest software and advancements in their career fields.

But new graduates may lack experience; and this is a plus for veteran employees. These seasoned career professionals may carve a niche on the job by earning a professional certificateonline MBA or other distance-learning degree. Additional certification often opens the door to management positions and pay raises.

The economy will always have ups and downs; but being proactive through e-learning is a great way to keep job skills current and unemployment at bay.
